Stjepan Orešković
Chairman, Center for Research and Promotion of Best Practice in HealthCare

Professor Orešković is the president of the DIBSS Conference. He has a rich experience in science as a researcher and lecturer at a number of world-renowned universities as well as in academic, corporate and international projects management. He is the founder and director of the World Health Organization Collaborating Center for HIV Strategic Information. The Center educated students from 105 countries around the world. He is the Principal Investigator (PI) of the GLOBAL GRAND Project (2018-2021), which includes clinical and behavioral medical teams from Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital and the Medical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana and the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zagreb. He is a Fellow at the Institute of Coaching at McLean Hospital Harvard Medical School Associate, Harvard Medical School Department of Global Health and Social Medicine Center for Bioethics Fellowhip Allumni. He also initiated the Ethical Responsibilities of Universities project at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University. He is also a visiting lecturer at L'Ecole Nationale de Santé Publique Université Sorbonne Paris Cité. Professor Oreskovic has conducted joint educational, research and consulting projects with the London School of Economics and Political Science, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Università Bocconi, Università di Trieste and the University of Ljubljana. He has authored a total of 156 reviewed articles, books and chapters in books (Google Scholar h-index 17 and i-10 index 28 RG 31.81) with the world's leading publishers, such as Springer Publishing, Elsevier Science, Wiley-Blackwell, Pergamon Press and Cambridge University Press. He worked as a consultant for international organizations such as the World Bank, the European Commission (DG Science) and the World Health Organization. Professor Orešković is the President of the Council of the Center of Excellence at the Medical Faculty of the University of Zagreb.

Professor Orešković is recognized internationally for his projects that foster innovative interventions and healthcare research in the field of bioethics and gerontology, tobacco control, obesity prevention and new forms of addiction, including internet addiction. His key projects, activities and editorial articles were presented in the world leading scientific journals such as The Lancet and the British Medical Journal. His work was praised in the books "Global Health Leadership and Management", "Global Health Disparities” and "Urban Health”. He was featured in international media including among others the Huffington Post, Reuters, Associated Press, CNN, BBC, RTL, NBC and other fora.
